Notes	This war tax scrip was issued in Palestine by Anderson County. According to the inscription on the note, it was ''levied for the support of Soldiers' Families.'' The following phrase is printed along the left border of the note: By order of the county court. A printer's design appears along the right side of the note. The note is signed on the recto by H. J. Watts, Clerk, and on the verso by William Alexander, Chief Justice of Anderson County (TSHA). The date, Nov. 8, 1864, is printed.
