seat

government

Galveston
was the
major
port
of
entry
to
Texas
and the
custom
house
under
Gail
Borden
accumulated
most
of the
hard
money
which
Texas
received
during
the
Republic
era
.

against
these
funds
. This
note
is
a
certificate
of
entitlement
for
pay
in the
Texian
Army
. A
