Notes	This audited draft was issued in Velasco. This city was first settled in 1821 as the port of entry for Stephen F. Austin's incoming colonists. It became the capital of the Republic (March 16, 1836 to October 1836) after San Felipe was burned and the Battle of San Jacinto was won. The left border comprises an ornate printer's design; two sphinxes face away from each other in the center of the border. The plate designation ''B'' is printed adjacent to the face of each sphinx. A decorative border runs across the top and along the bottom of the note. The abbreviation ''No.'' is printed in the upper-left corner; the number ''631'' is handwritten adjacent to it. The right border comprises an intricate printer's design. The amount and payee are handwritten. The first three digits, 183, are printed; the last digit of the year, 6, is handwritten as are the month and day. The note has been signed by the auditor and the comptroller. It is printed on watermarked paper. CR: V-2.
