Notes	This audited draft was issued in Columbia by the Republic of Texas. Columbia was the capital of the Republic from October 1836 until April 18, 1837, when due to inadequate accommodations the capital was moved to Houston. A row of printer's design comprises the left border of the note. The imprint ''TELEGRAPH'' should be printed along the left border, but the note has been cropped along this edge. The abbreviation ''No.'' is printed in the upper-left corner; the number ''1906'' is handwritten adjacent to it. Three rows of printer's design comprise the right border. The amount and payee are handwritten. The first three digits, 183, are printed; the last digit of the year as well as the month and day are handwritten. The note is signed on the recto by Asa Brigham, Auditor, and H. C. Hudson, Controller (TSHA). On the verso the note is signed by Dawson Rockhold. Brigham was a signer of the Texas Declaration of Independence, first treasurer of the Republic of Texas, and mayor of Austin (TSHA). CR: C-4.
