Notes	This municipal scrip was issued in Columbia by the City of Columbia. Founded in 1826, Columbia was a thriving trading center during the period of the Republic. The vignette along the left side of the note depicts a crudely rendered bust of George Washington. An eagle with a shield is printed in the center of the note. The plate designation ''Z'' is in the upper-right corner. The imprint ''Telegraph Print'' appears along the right edge. The note is undated, but is circa 1836. The signatures on the recto of the note are illegible.
