Notes	This municipal scrip was issued by the City of Bastrop in Bastrop County. Along the left side of the note the words ''TWO BITS'' appear in a border design. The number ''472'' is handwritten next to the abbreviation ''No.'' A steamship is depicted in the center. Beneath it the following phrase appears: ''The Corporation of the City of Bastrop will pay B Sims, or bearer,....'' The imprint, ''National Banner Print,'' is at the bottom of the note. The plate designation ''B'' is printed on the right side of the note. The first three digits that comprise the year, 183, are printed; the last digit of the year, 8, is handwritten. The day and month are also handwritten. The note is signed on the recto by Russell B. Craft, Treasurer of Bastrop, and Bartholomew Manlove, Mayor of Bastrop (TXGenWeb and TSHA).
