The photograph depicts Winfield Hall , the estate of U.S. Foil Company founder Richard Samuel Reynolds , Sr. Located in Glen Cove , New York , Winfield Hall was designed by architect C. P. H. Gilbert and built ca. 1916 for Frank Winfield Woolworth , founder of the Woolworth retail chain. Reynolds purchased the estate in 1929.
