Artist Biography	Elmer Talmage Clark was a pastor, author, editor, denominational leader, and church historian who served the MECS and the Methodist Church for fifty-eight years.

Description of Photographs	These are photographs of similarly composed paintings or drawings with cloud-like backgrounds produced by the Rev. Elmer T. Clark.
Notes	Images from the Paul B. Kern Papers. All of the men pictured are bishops of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South (MECS), prior to 1924, including the pre-1844 bishops of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Each photographic portrait is marked on the back, "Copyright 1924, by / Elmer T. Clark / Not to be Reproduced."
Texas Bishops Notes	Bishop Hay worked to promote Methodism in China and Mexico. In 1930 he organized the Texas Mexican Conference.
