Description	Letter is marked "Monday PM". This letter references the Cincinnati Riots of 1884 where a corrupt judicial system set murderers free. The public rioted and had decided to take the law into their own hands by lynching and setting fire to the courthouse (which was destroyed). Vincent's letter is written in Cincinnati on Sunday after two days of riots, and he says "the fire and the firing in Cincinnati did not disturb me. I heard the riot signal "6-2-1" but went to sleep. Bishop Foss who slept in the front of the house heard the cannon and saw the conflagration. This morning I walked to the courthouse and jail and saw the ruin wrought by the rioters.''
