Plain Text Transcription	[April 8, 1790] Letter 121 My dear Friends Your Faithfull Zeal for the South Seas & the warmth of my heart to have A [?] Chapel for you in Paris fills my many moments with Joy & delight - I am waiting to see Capt. Roberts of the Discovery who sails in his fine New Ship the end of this month to the South Seas My object in seeing him is to engage his among the English & others then to prepare them to accept with Gratitude the Intended Mission among them & acquainting me on his return with their views of more effectual service by the best place of their for the missionarys - should any thing occur to your mind needfull for still better Instruction to me, fail not to let me have your your [sic] wishes & thoughts - I have delayed two posts hoping to inform you Capt Roberts thoughts, our various labours, by five New Chapels build- ing, with the Uniting Plan of preserving the faithfull Gospel through the Whole Connection in England & Wales & the daily encrease of the darkest Countys Calling for the Gospel by vairous means - this with taking Care faithfully of those we have engaged with is great indeed to weakness like mine - I send you dear DeCourcys comp[limen]ts the worst sort of excuse to one who knows mankind so well & their meaning as the meanest[?] of all imposition but then let it rest - I think he has from his delay been con- sulting the Hills &c &c but the Lord has done better for us - Eyers Cer- tainly preachs six Sundays from the 18 of June at Bath & his labours make the youngman willingly & happily emplo[y]ed, two or three Sundays I will labour to supply that No bondage shall lye upon such faithfull & dis- interested friends as of so sensibly You all are, but Your self alone in Perticular - the Master of the Vineyard must be your Payment, such Wages that none but himself Can give - Canniford stands in a great Fire from the unheard of trying to take possession of the Place out of My hands, by the very fellow of poor wretched F-- & whose most unwarranted Conduct Could mean nothing but the utmost distress to me - but the Lord has such (& I am a witness) "Whoever trusted in me & was Confounded - Not I Lord" I must say, for one - great overflowings here to d[ea]r Jones & indeed the Work is divinely great Every where. One Miss Williams from Bath has quite enlivened me She speaks with Rapture of tears of your explaining the 8th of the Romans & the 11th of the Hebrews, she puts me in mind of our early days, now fifty Years ago as that fine fire that has Continued burning, but I own hers makes me hope some faith fire is Coming to the Church from the heavenly Alter upon us -.
