Plain Text Transcription	Letter 75 [Handwritten] [Jan 24, 1767] [Addressed:] To Mrs Wadsworth at the Revd Mr Madans at Knightsbridge Near London [However, the only part of the letter that is extant is to Madan, the part addressed to Judith Wadsworth is wanting. N.B. I'm not sure about this; needs rethinking. Across the top of p. 1 is a note in the hand of John Oliver Willyams Haweis: "Lady Huntingdon to Mrs Wordsworth 1767. The word reading Harris is Hawis misspelt as often. J.O.W.H."] My d[ea]r Madan[Madam?] I am greatly obliged by your attentions for any aid or help to that little plan I am engaged in. The person you mention I have before thought on, but the Character you do give him will be a means of encouraging my trial of him. At Present & for about a fortnight longer Mr Hawe[i]s will be here, and indeed he is so prepared for his message that a day does not pass without souls being call'd & begging to join us--one day nine & most days three & four & these of the most reprobate kind & others the bitterest enemys in the place, The most amazing power & authority rests upon him I ever saw upon any man & quite in a different spirit, I mentioned this to him & he finds it so himself & exactly to his own thinking of that kind that he first went out [p. 2] with thirty years ago & in all this weather travels & such roads & thro such dangers that shews the night[?] fire he carrys with him. The power has been so great under some of his sermons that made all trouble in the place. O! divine truth. What is like unto it. I have not yet reviv’d my sad journey but the great glory that covers this work at present makes me forget my poor temporal misery. I hope it has not affected your lungs.
