[Address

My
very
dear
Friends
The
much
hoped
for
time
for
your
being
at
Bath
is
so
near
that
I
could
not be
satisfied
but to
know
when
I
may
order
my
house
to be in
readiness
with
love
&
thankfulness
to
receive
you
both
. The
student
I
have
mentioned
as
being
ill
lyes
now
at the
point
of
death
,
one
of the
most
blessed
witnesses
for the
power
,
beauty
&
simplicity
of
all
gospel
truths
I
ever
have
yet
seen
, a
childlike
sweetness
,
humility
,
patience
with the
smiles
of
peacefull
joy
ever
over
his
countenance
.
I
long
to
remember
all
he
says
as
it
comes
as from a
stream
that has
no
cares
from him. His
life
is
unspeakable
, a
good
scholar
,
one
of the
most
deep
experienc'd
&
gracious
creatures
I
ever
had. He has
laboured
nine
years
with
me
&
never
occasioned
me
a
day's
trouble
&
it
is
many
that will
follow
his
memory
with
many
thousand
tears
as he has been
so
own'd
in
life
to
so
many
souls
&
on
sick
&
dieing
beds
&
others
his
life
has been
blessed--&
his
end
most
gloriously
so
thus
mournfull
yet
on his
account
rejoicing
yet
not
knowing
well
how to
give
such
a
faithfull
soul
up
. This with
many
more
engagements
of
time
&
spirits
has
prevented
me
[p
.
2]
&
saying
a
great
deal
I
have to
say
to
you
but
I
could
not be
contented
till
I
could
hear
when
you
will be at
Bath
. If
you
love
me
let
me
know
soon
&
believe
me
my
very
dear
friends
ever
your
truly
affectionate
&
devoted
friend
