Plain Text Transcription	Letter 103 Nov 20, 1779 [Address panel wanting] My dear Friends Mortified I was more then I can express to find my letter had crosst the one that brings me the distressing account of dear Mr Haw[e]is being so ill. Surely Bristol waters must be absolutely needfull? May our gracious Lord direct what is best & I do hope to hear some welcome account soon that all those alarming symptoms are (if not gone) yet so abated as may satisfie our anxious care for him at present. I had wrote sooner but wished to give you some account of the cause-- all in the consultation suppose it very critical but much worth the decision of the court of King's bench & only waited for your monition in order to prevent expence & the men regularly [p. 2] to promote this they all appear'd to be sure of--but to the surprise of the whole commons & counsel the judge admitted the plea & Sellon & his counsel so agitated as never people was. We were so certain of the contrary that we was not prepared for this very, very unexpected event. On this another consultation must be had to be clear if it is in the proper stage for the probe between in the King's bench. It has a favourable aspect but the protraction of the cause must be greatly extended by this means before it can be brought to its final issue.[?] Poor Compton shone most amazingly. Matters goes well here & Mr & Mrs Wills is arrived. Glascott gone to Bristol & Herbert Jones at Bath. We are call'd to a great stand at York & one also beyond Hull with others near London & the great people hear more then ever. It is a wonderfull gospel day. [p. 3] Labourers are few. The post hurrys me so & I am almost blind with writing all day, but ever remain my dear kind friends ever oblig'd Affectionately & devoted S: Huntingdon Spa Fields Noer 20, 1779 I have recovered strength from my fever to a miracle. Blesse'd be God. I hope to sense better the gracious will of the Lord.
