My
dearest
Friends
A
sorrowfull
sense
of
pain
made
me
yield
in
spight
of those
warmest
of
my
desires
to have
answered
your
letter
the
next
hour
.
Your
last
visits
have
left
such
strong
impressions
of
your
faithfull
friendship
to
me
that will
only
,
I
believe
,
cease
with
my
poor
unworthy
life
here
below
. The
stones
and its
terrible
conpanions
, with
extreme
hunger
and
thirst
, by an
almost
total
incapacity
of a
single
drop
without
such
pain
&
anxiety
, that
all
my
complaints
was the
secret
tears
of
bitterness
shed
while
looking
with an
humble
"
Why
not
remove
so
worthless
a
creature
dear
Lord.
" But
reflection
brought
the
necessity
of
patience
having
its
perfect
work
.
Under
this
Bradford
&
others
most
infamous
conduct
has
&
is
doing
all
to
grieve
my
spirit
&
after
seven
years
eating
the
most
friendly
bread
I
even
yielded
to the
most
affectionate
son
.
Yet
all
is
well
,
all
is
very
well
&
I
now
beg
of
you
,
my
dear
friend
, to
send
the
young
man
you
mention
to
Bath
as
one
of the
happy
there
under
your
auspicious
eye
for
which
the
Lord
reward
you
millions
of
heavenly
&
earthly
blessings
. Be
assured
my
dear
friend
you
oblige
me
by
addressing
any of
your
compositions
to
very
insignificant
me
.
Inclosed
I
send
you
a
welcome
[p
.
2]
letter
from a
man
whose
father
laboured
for
years
to
destroy
the
ease
&
peace
of
my
life
on the
gospel
account
&
carried
the
day
.
O
! how
bitter
and
remembrance
&
at
last
died
in
great
sufferings
&
I
bless
God
a
sore
awakened
conscience
at
last
. How
must
I
be
surprised
at the
voice[?]
in this
letter
.
I
purpose
to
encourage
him to
make
some
offers
that will
please
his
early
anxiety
.
Return
the
letter
but
keep
minutes
of
it
for
me
. The
views
of the
missions
of the
Indian
Nations
are to
my
vile
body
life
from the
dead
. The
minister
quite
after
my
own
heart
sails
in
three
weeks
at
least
. If any
advice
should
arise
to
so
diligent
&
capable
of
mind
from
you
in this
vast
,
vast
undertaking
,
give
it
for the
Lord's
sake
.
All
is
well
settled
at
O[u]ndle
,
Lymington
,
&c
,
&c
.
an[d]
alive
for
our
help
&
more
daily
calls
employ
with
joy
my
worse[?]
waking
moments
.
Love
to
my
dearest
friend
Mr
Haweis
Ever
&
ever
hers
&
yours
,
Affectionately

Mine
to
my
dear
&
faithful
friends
who
are

your
labours
