Plain Text Transcription	Letter 127 [Handwritten] Aug 7, 1790 [Address panel:] To The Revd Mr Haweis at Aldwinkle Thrapston [Postmarked London, August 7, 1790] [No salutation] My thanks waits on my dear kind friends for the great treat of the good news I received by yesterday's post from them [from] Leicestershire. When my life was combin'd against & not long ago in my own chapel with many tears acknowledged it yet precious to me & we have rising hopes of much good being done but [ink smear renders word illegible] the ministers from you mention revives my hopes of much more good being done by your visit from Cambridge & which more great things must be expected. O! for that faith that subdues kingdoms to the Lord & has Christ who is the same yesterday to- day & forever. Poor blind dead worms we are & this for myself I feel daily. I shall rejoice to see you in your intended way to Brighton. Jones is over head & ears in work & I think it will do them no harm to feel different for so short a time, & my dear faithfull friend Glascott I will venture will see no evil that he will regard as such till your return. O[u]ndle is well supplied by a most uncommon young man & the meeting house and all things taken good care of by me. My affairs abroad promise great things. A most tried & precious young man from Wigin [i. e., Wigan] (Mr Johnson) I expect in a few days to embark. He is quite the man for me. He is not eight & twenty & two noble chapels [p. 2] erected by his means. One at Wigin [Wigan] in the very heart of popery & another at New Manchester. He now goes to America for me & to labour to fullfill my long desired Plan for the Indian Nations who no man seems to care for their souls. I have had from my -rast most faithfull & abundantly to be honoured minister precious views of planting missionarys on the frontiers of those nations & where English is among many known. Your prayers for this I know I shall not want. Foster has lost this parish, & such scenes of evil that I honour his yielding it up. The post hurrys me & my miserable body begs you to forgive such a scrap. The spasms are long & most terrible but my best road I would fain hope home.
