Plain Text Transcription	Letter 80 [Handwritten] [1771?] [Address panel:] To The Revd Mr Haw[e]is at Aldwinkle Northamptonshire D[ea]r Sir You must be forced to bear with me as a troublesome Creature, & yet I think you will suffer me, while the motive is to shew that attention to you, the testimonys of your services have so effectually secured from me. The little coolness (as I have heard) subsisting between you & Mr Madan makes my situation to you delicate. He has invited Mr Peckwell to preach at the Lock. This naturally would produce an invitation from me to preach at my chapel at Westminster. Yet could I not find freedom till I had before doing this had your wishes about it, as the honour of such as favour me with this [their?] friendship appears superiour to any I could wish for myself. Speak your whole heart upon this subject as I shall proceed in consequence only of your sentiments upon this or any such occasion. My love to dear Mrs Haw[e]is. She should have many precious & glorious accounts if I had franks[?] to send them in. I have a letter from Wills full of love & thankfulness for my approbation & indeed something both Christian & very proper. I am with my poor but best wishes & prayers for every blessing upon you & your labours. Dear Sir, our oblig'd & affectionate friend, S: Huntingdon [Postmarked June 6. Thomas Haweis' son, J.O.W.H. queried 1769, but another hand has written "or 70-71" J.O.W.H. also wrote the following note across the top: "The coolness with Madan about My F[ather’s] marriage with Mrs W. indorsed.”] [Another note, Handwritten: Would have to be 1771 as Haweis married on Jan. 3, 1771]
Notes	Letter is postmarked June 6; the year is most likely 1771. Haweis's son, wrote a note across the top,''The Coolness with [Martin] Madan about My F[ather's] marriage with Mrs. W[ordsworth] Indorsed.'' Haweis had married Judith Wordsworth on January 3, 1771
