Plain Text Transcription	Letter 71 [Handwritten] May 22, 1766] [Address panel:] To Mrs Wadsworth at Chauncy Townsend’s, Esqr &c in Austin Friers London My dearest Friend You never gave such a cordial as your letter brought me. First, that you was tolerable well and next that you wished to be with me. It is a hard day of trial with me. No life in the present ministry & so many that I loved turning in bitterness from me & saying if anyone woman went to Hell I must for not approving greater wildness than even Bell openly uttered. Still I look upon something in the wild that will be good as I do hope as you (I am sure) love me you will contrive to spend some time with me. Then Lord Killmory spends the month of July with me & then if your d[ea]r brother could have his place supplied & be with us O! how happy should we be in the work together. This I think I feel [p. 2] the Lord knows best how to direct but before you set out do see Mr Whitfield & strive with some one for Bath. If Mr Madan was to go to Bath Mr Shirley might come for a week here before that & on his return then Mr Madan could be at liberty. I find the fine people flock without end to the chappel & many have been sent away having no room. Do say this but in your hands under the blessed direction of your leader I live in the wild this summer engrossed by utmost care & I know not why the hearers would be great & all things I am sure will be ordered will be sure of Mr Madan when you can get him, but as not one fine creature is yet come my poor head is looking at help for them by his means. It must be managed that they are not all here together but dispersed. Can I get no one for Pewsey, do think that some opening here to proceed may be much before you leave London. Sellon is the only one [p. 3] I can think of & I do think he might get help without sending anyone down. Davis must beat the bush for your d[ea]r brother in the wild. Here is my heart revived that that he continues well. I bless & praise the Lord that his recovery was his gift to me this I am sure of. Dear Miss Charlotte will be surprised with my letter but indeed you are so affectionately near my heart that I feel quite distrest about you. I am so united by sorrow with you that I learn it is the best _______ for that man of sorrows heart to unite in. Do take care of yourself my dear creature & give my love to Heron & tell him I wonder Sir Harry never writes to me to let me know how he does. The knives do bring with you. I shall wait for Monday with pleasure when I shall hope for you. Mr Willm leaves[?] me that day. I wish the drawings of your heart may be here & then a blessing will be with you & for you.
