[Address

My
dear
&
most
kind
Friends
Surely
nothing
can
come
up
to
your
wise
,
faithful
,
&
disinterested
zeal
&
diligence
in
our
blessed
Lord's
vineyard
.
I
often
view
with
most
heavenly
delight
that
divine
eye
that
yet
so
tenderly
deals
with
mortality
as
seeing
you
&
causing
your
most
honourable
labours
so
abounding
in him
&
for his
namesake
. A
dear
minister
this
day
,
speaking
of
you
, was
joying
over
your
early
labours
at
Oxford
and
added
how
much
greater
your
late
and
very
latest
will
claim
yet
greater
honour
.
I
have been
offended
with the
young
men
I
have had
&
have had
near
three
stand[?]
under
my
hands
&
by
learning
a
little
wisdom
from
much
suffering
I
keep
a
straight
hand
over
them
&
in
future
have
ordered
them not to
____
[?]
one
day
from
under
your
hands
but by
my
most
express
direction
. The
dangers
of an
unhumbled
mind
in
youth
is
almost
hopeless
with
me
and this from
sad
experience
.
[p
.
2]
I
shall
have a
long
account
to
send
you
in a
post
or
two
relative
to
Eyers
. He
is
an
honest
creature
.
Doctor
Addington
has
given
up
his
academy
and
Eyers
,
I
expect
, will be
chose
in his
place
. He has been with
me
about
it
&
a
more
disinterested
heart
so
he
can
but
serve
the
Lord
most
faithfully
cannot
be.
Our
Plan
for this
you
shall
know
.
My
English
students
I
mean
to be with him
&
for the
carrying
on
my
dear
Welch
labours
I
mean
to have the
college
in
Wales
for
both
languages
most
compleat
for
English
and
Welch
. There
seems
not a
doubt
but the
the[sic)
whole
Welch
work
will
cordially
unite
as
one
with us
&nd
if
so
no
yet
known
connection
will be
so
important
.
Dear
Jones'
love
. He
means
to
write
&
call
upon
you
on his
return
.
Four
of these
most
eminent
ministers--clergymen
honest
,
wise
&
faithfull
men
I
know
can
be
trusted
&
great
&
clear
in their
dear
Master's
cause
&
in the
English
well
inform'd
.
Each
day
proves
a
great
door
is
opening
for
something
.
France
will be for the
English
Protestants
if
I
succeed
. Be
so
good
what the
young
men
want
as from the
committee
&
the
committee
draw
upon
me
for
it
.
[p
.
3]
Any
business
of their
own
I
oblige
their
friends
to
pay
, or they would
many
pastimes
I
could
not
admit
of.
Let
Sheppard
repay
you
with
my
thanks
. They
speak
highly
of
you
,
above
all
,
&
also
respectfully
of
Doctor
Walker
. The
gout
in
my
head
&
all
over
me
&
the
spasms
in
my
throat
render
my
days
filled
with
weariness
&
painfulness
.
Nothing
does
me
any
good
.
Fourscore
&
four
has
no
reliefs
till
the
blessed
&
final
dismission
comes
.
You
flatter
me
extremely
by
allowing
me
any
name
united
with
yours
.
You
have but to
name
your
wishes
ever
as
my
ready
commands
. By an
unlucky
changing
the
coaches
the
packet
for
me
was
mislaid
. The
young
men
are
after
it
&
set
out
today
for
Bath
. Should
I
be
living
[?]
when
you
leave
Bath
my
affairs
I
could
wish
to
give
you
some
intelligence
of if
London
could
be
convenient
in
your
way
home
.
Jenkins
[?]
goes
to
Bristol
when
Doctor
Ford
leaves
&
Canniford
&
Eyers
with
Glascott
supplys
for
Bath
. The
boys
are
just
going
.
Ten
millions
of
blessings
rest
on
you
&
my
dear
Mrs
Haweis
.
I
can
never
thank
you
both
enough
but
your
reward
is
with the
Most
High
.
Fail
not to
speak
kindly
for
me
to
all
warm
hearted
enquirers
&
I
must
ever
remain
an
insolvent
yet
ever
affectionate
friend
