Summary	Safeguarding the health and safety of young workers should be a public concern at all times. It becomes doubly important in wartime when young, immature, and inexperienced workers are expected to handle jobs previously performed by adults, and under the pressure of war-production goals. Nevertheless, there is danger that our national preoccupation with production may lead us to pay too little attention to the welfare of young people, upon whom the Nation's future depends, at precisely the time when their protection is most urgent.--p. 2.
