From Charlotte Margaret Noel (daughter of Lady Barham) at Barham Court, Maidstone, Kent, to [Elizabeth] Haweis at Beaufort Buildings in Bath, Somerset. Noel regards Elizabeth as her dear patroness just as T.H. is her patron. They arrived here on Wednesday and found dear grandpapa very well. To their surprise Charles and Elizabeth (probably Charlotte's brother Charles Noel and his wife Elizabeth) were here – they are well also, but she is afraid that she cannot say the same for her beloved mama [Lady Barham, Diana Noel] for she has rheumatism. How are dear T.H., sweet Williams and Calista [Sidney] (Calista Sidney Haweis, daughter of Thomas Haweis and Elizabeth, was born on November 18, 1809) Elizabeth should ask Williams not to forget ettolrahc Leon (which he will discover is Noel’s name spelled backwards), Spiritual matters are discussed. |
