Plain Text Transcription	From William Griffin at Thrapston in Northamptonshire, to T.H. in Weymouth, Dorset. Griffin’s wife has been very ill and confined to her bed. The doctors have concluded that ‘nature is nearly worn out and indeed, appearances seem to justify their report.’ Mr L.P. [Llewellyn Powys] called a week or ten days past when Griffin himself was out and he waited for Griffin to return – he asked for half an hour’s conversation. He stayed for that time or more…’ Griffin treated him with all the civility due to a gentleman, a Christian and a clergyman. They conversed concerning the way that Powys had treated the Rector and Griffin’s views on this matter are discussed at length. They parted on friendly terms and Griffin followed up on the conversation with a letter to Powys on the same subject. (1 sheet, 4p.) 20 August 1814
