Transcription	[From Samuel Sebastian Wesley to Sir Frederick Ouseley] Gloucester September 6, 1872 Dear Sir Frederick Ouseley, My thoughts are running towards your kind efforts in behalf of procuring me fishing. I wish to pass a few days at the inn on the Teme and hope for the best part of the river open to me through your kind interest. This, on the score of health for I have recently found much advantage from a little relaxation in good air. I can, I hope go to the river, after next week, at any time I had leave so to do. My son Frank, who is standing for a Minor Canonry at Exeter is chanting the service here now, daily. He really does it admirably, as well as I wish to hear it. I have learnt that, at York, where he lately offered himself for a similar office, very many people of distinction came forward to aid Mr. Lacon. The trial was all moonshine! This is told me by one who knows Mr Lacon and the facts of the matter. I daresay you will say this does not interest you so I must apologise for introducing the subject, but I wish to suggest that the trial might not have fairly pronounced as [to] the claims of my son as far as chanting goes.
