[Address:] To Samuel Lloyd Esqr in Devonshire Square Dear Sir, 'Between you both I unconcerned stand by,' though I have neglected neither your commands nor Mrs Waller’s. For I sent the day after we parted to inquire when the great man could be spoken with. He was from home, and I have heard nothing from him since. I stay in town till Monday sevennight in expectation of my brother, so that I might have another half hour with you when you have so much time to spare. Yours most faithfully, CW Bell Alley Tuesday Night [August 12, 1766] I am urged by some of Mrs Gaussen’s Christian friends to endeavour to see her butt know not how to determine. |
