Plain Text Transcription	Letter #51 [Handwritten] double letter, June 4, 1765 [Note: minimal punctuation and capitalization have been added for the sake of legibility] [Address panel:] To The Revd Mr Townshend at Pewsey near the Devises Wilshire My D[ea]r Sir How sall I love you or thank you enough for your last most kind & Christian letter My heart does really breath night & day to become the poor devoted Creature of that tender hearted God who boar[sic] my sins & carried my sorrows & when I feel this in any heart I Can then say O! This is my Brother, this is my sister. The sweet fellowship with that head makes the hearts but one. Mr Jesse is arrived he is & will be a blessing here The simplicity & above all the apparent devotedness of of [sic] his honest heart makes me expect great things thro the Course of his ministry – With the permission & I would trust under the Guidance of our only wise friend I hope to be in London on the 7 of July when after 2 or three days stay we hope to go for Derbyshire. Sir Charles Hotham Mrs Carteret & Cavendish will be of our Party & I hope to Carry down with us d[ea]r Mr Romain Mr Venn I hope also will be with us for a time. O! my d[ea]r friend pray continually for a Blessing; it has nothing of myself in it & I see nothing before me only I hear a loud Call. Ever & ever I shall remain yours in the best bonds S: Huntingdon [continued on the same page, a letter to Mrs Wadsworth [i.e. Judith Wordsworth] My d[ea]r Mrs Wadsworth Your letter made my heart quite overflow with love to you that riches for that d[ea]r Lamb of God’s services shews us what sorts ought ever to be willing, watchfull always ready for any thing, for every thing to which that sweet voice would lead us, we then have nothing to do with consequences they are no longer ours but his. [p. 2] I am Charmed with Mr Jesse’s account about you. All the dear Children will write again they all meet at the appointed hour – nine on Sunday Morning to Join for their d[ea]r Wiltshire Sisters. I am in haste to send this which obliges me to assure my very d[ea]r Mrs Wadsworth of a heart hers for ever for Jsus Christ s Sake S: Huntingdon Ote Hall June 4, 1765 I think Mr Jesse is allways the better for being with your d[ea]r Brother & if I Can Contrive it I shall bring him into Derbyshire. [Postmarked from Brighthelmstone; “near the Devises Wilshire” marked through; letter passed through the London postoffice on June 6.] [N.B.: Ote Hall was near Wivels Field in Sussex]
